Xcitek was a market data vendor founded in 1986 by three active principals. Its focus was on corporate actions data, and it became the industry leader within the United States as a provider for corporate actions information. Xcitek grew at a rapid rate and had over 2,000 clients at its peak in 2007.
Over the years, Xcitek has expanded its market data product line to include offerings of many different types, such as cost basis, class actions, Xcitax, and several other products. In addition, Xcitek formed relationships with virtually every major data provider including IDC, S&P, and numerous other vendors as a partner in the reselling of their data for specific purpose throughout the securities industry. In 2007, IDC, (Interactive Data Corp) acquired Xcitek market data, and integrated those data products into their existing product line.
